We like it when Mom comes home and we can lick the top of her coffee mug to get a few precious tastes of Dad's favorite drink.

We also like to go to Elba and have Dad carry us up to the firetower. Dad sure enjoyed carrying me the hundreds of steps.

When we got back down I tried to scale the beast myself.

This is how far I eventually got. You can see our car way down there in the parking lot.

We like to eat our favorite snacks. Usually blackberries or raspberries.

I still enjoy them even with the remnants of my cold. That is why I am snorting like a rodeo bull.

We love the backyard...

Marathon Mom

The other weekend marked Mom's return to the 26.2 mile sprint that is a marathon. Prerace posing with Erin "the doc" Carey in Madison, WI. This is her comeback race, 8 months after giving birth to the world's cutest baby.

Many of you may know, but Becky is back at work and Charly is not. The plan is for Charly to stay at home with Abi during the school year while Becky teaches in Kasson-Mantorville. When summer rolls around Charly will be putting in hours at the bike shop and Becky will stay at home. This is our way of not having to deal with the stress of daycare and such. Things are going very well so far with this set up.

This is the look Abi gave when she found out Dad was going to be staying at home with her. If she could talk her response would have probably been, "say what?!?!?!".

Mom is back running again by the way. The Madison, WI marathon is her "comeback" race. Here, the whole family encourages Mom in her training.

Sam and Erin flew in from Maine to qualify as the people that traveled the furthest. Sam is Charly's brother and Erin is his "girlfriend". Just a note, Sam had a "big announcement" while he was in town.

Abi must have just heard a funny joke up at the cabin.

Yeah, he knows if you've been bad or good.

Just a couple of notes. Abi can support her weight and she can roll onto her stomach all at 3 months old. Typical babies do not do this until 5 months. What does that mean? Abi's life long dream of becoming a professional mountain biker are on track.

Mommy ate too much turkey during Thanksgiving, thus Abi ate too much turkey...nap time!

This is how you hold the baby and keep the ability to switch channels on the TV.

Abi loves to model. I think she needs to work on the "milk gut" though.

Where is the baby in this picture? Mom, Dad, Baby, and Dog all went hiking at Carley State park.

Abi says, "hiking is fun". That or she uttered some random grunts that sounded just like that.

We have entered the second month of Abigail's life. This will also be my first blog post, so bare with me if it is anything less than perfect. Well, sorry for the lack of posts. We already taught Abi how to update the blog, but you know how lazy babies can be.

We recently were visited by family. Sam (Charly's brother) and his "girlfriend" Erin were the first to visit. We headed up to the cabin with the family to spend some time together in tight quarters and fear of bears. A good time was had by all. Erin blended in well with the family. Sam and her enjoyed picking on me despite my best efforts to be overly nice to both of them.

As Sam was flying out of town the Gellers were driving into town. We were blessed with "The Rock" (Becky's brother Ritchie) and his wife Courtney for 4 days. They seemed to enjoy making fun of me despite my best efforts to make them feel welcome. We ended up taking Abi to her first pumpkin patch and the Gellers had a hard time giving up Abi at any point during their stay.

Oh well, all was fun and we look forward to Abi finally getting around to updating the blog herself.

Dad falls asleep all the time, and now he has passed that gift to Abi.

Family trip to the cabin

This last January, Becky and I purchased a cabin in Cable, WI with my folks. We are big fans of traveling there to hike and bike. We headed up there with 9 day old Abi and Nina to enjoy the outdoors. Here are some pics.

There is a great trail behind the cabin for hiking and biking. Nina enjoys running off leash there as well.

Abi was so excited to leave the hospital and see her new home.

Welcome to the Tri family blog. We hope this helps our family and friends that are wanting to see how we are doing.

Well, last night was our first night at home with the newest addition to our family, Abi. As we have heard from others about the first night home; it was an event filled with extra fussiness, gas, and little sleep.

Nina, the family dog, has always been a little scared of humans that were not full grown. We have spent a fair amount of time researching the best way to introduce them and so far it seems to be paying off. Nina is still a little skittish, but is showing interest and concern for her little sister. Crying from Abi seems to really set off Nina's protective reflexes. She tries to console Abi with licks and sniffing, but we try to not let Abi drown in a slobbery mess. Things are looking good among the siblings so far.
